Austin Ford loves music.

From the age of 5 when he began learning to play the piano, music has been the central passion of Austin’s life. As an adolescent he became obsessed with The Beatles, Billy Joel, and Ben Folds, learning to play many of their songs and knowing he’d make his own music one day.

Austin’s passion for music carried him through many years of piano lessons, a music major at an esteemed performing arts high school near Atlanta, a jazz piano degree at Middle Tennessee State University, gigging around Nashville, and eventually forming his own band and recording his own music.

Though he studied jazz in college, Austin’s aim was never to become a world class jazz pianist. Instead, his intention was clear from the beginning: take the lessons of jazz (the complex musical vocabulary, the collaboration of musicians, the technical mastery, the developing of one’s own voice and style, etc.) and apply them to the more popular styles of music he loved most.

Now, after literally thousands of hours of hard work, he’s ready to share his passion with the world. With his band, Austin Ford and the Time Travelers, he has made a full album of original songs. To say these songs are personal to him is an understatement. They are the culmination of his entire artistic life to this point. His musical values, his worldview, the way he sees himself: all are encapsulated to the best of his ability in these ten tracks.

These songs will be released one at a time, a song per month throughout 2024, culminating in the official album release. The first five songs, “Bonehead,” “The Tyrant,” and “Look the Other Way,” and “Under Your Thumb,” and “Stranded,” are available now. Stream or purchase them from these platforms:
